Something to consider:
Most coaches deplore selling and marketing, especially selling themselves. They got into coaching to serve and help people reach their goals and dreams. They didn't realize that building and sustaining a business (and thus making money) has more to do with their ability to market and sell. "There is a direct correlation between the most financially successful coaches and those that embrace sales and marketing," says, Michael Charest (of Business Growth Solutions).
Does this sound like you?

Dear ML
I totally understand but you dont really have to become "marketing and sales happy"....you just need to quit being a secret...be willing to seek ways to open conversations with people about what they do and they will ask you what you do...then we you tell them that is the beginning of marketing...if you do it passionately and authentically....you will be hired because of that more often than not..We at Institute for Life Coach Training do marketing as part of our foundational training and have an advanced course as well,
AND in my book Therapist As Life Coach there is a list of 99 ways to market your coaching

I think that is such a relevant point. I am a recently qualified counsellor and now coach. This is for me the difficult part. Marketing and Sales are the furthest thing from my mind.
However I am really aware that if I want to make a real success of my coaching business I am going have to get "marketing and sales happy"...

It is unfortunate that so many skilled professionals are unwilling or unable to market themselves to people in need of their services. I think sales and marketing can be done in an honest way that is respectful of both the coach and client. If a coach or any professional cannot believe in themselves and what they are offering, why would a client be interested in their services?
